Twisties: Plot Twifties

Tapping into Twisties’ spirit of subversion to become Australia’s anti-hero

Taylor Swift’s colossal Eras Tour was a cultural moment like no other. As we saw brands desperately shoehorning themselves into a cultural conversation they had no right to be in, it felt ripe for yet another Twisties ‘Plot Twistie’.

The blank space to ironically write our name? Sydney’s stunning skyline. Going to self-referentially cringe and comically extreme lengths to subversively insert Twisties into the discourse, we skywrote “Twifties” outside Taylor’s hotel window; a deliberately nonsensical brand portmanteau referencing the Swifites fandom and our unrelated product in unison.

Confusion reigned as we took to the skies, with the discourse raking over twitter and both Sydney and Taylor Swift reddit communities. Our brand mascots took credit for the ironic stunt on social, closing the loop on the world of UGC confusion that had followed.
